Terms of Service

By creating an account, submitting content, or otherwise using ScamVault ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use ScamVault. You are responsible for everything done through your account.

ScamVault is a platform for users to share allegations, evidence and opinions about projects, businesses and individuals they believe may be engaged in fraudulent or scam-like behaviour. Investigations, comments, risk scores and statuses are:

• Allegations and opinions based on user submissions and our review of the evidence presented.
• Not judicial findings. We do not determine guilt and we do not claim that any subject of an investigation has committed a crime.
• Subject to change as new evidence is reviewed.

Where we describe behaviour, we use words like "alleged", "reported", "claimed", or "suspected" to reflect this.

You retain ownership of the content you submit, but grant ScamVault a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, modify, display and distribute that content for the purpose of operating, promoting and improving the Service. You represent and warrant that:

• The information you submit is true to the best of your knowledge.
• You have the right to submit any evidence, screenshots, documents and identifiers you upload.
• Your content does not infringe any third party's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.

You must not:

• Submit false, misleading, or knowingly fabricated reports.
• Post private personal information of non-public individuals (home addresses, government IDs, etc.) — see Community Guidelines.
• Harass, threaten, dox, or incite violence against any person.
• Use the Service to defame any person or business with content you know to be false.
• Attempt to break, overload, scrape at scale, or reverse engineer the Service.
• Upload malware, illegal content, or sexually explicit material.

We may, at our sole discretion, edit, label, hide, delay publication of, or remove any content; close accounts; and respond to legal requests. Subjects of an investigation may request review through our revalidation process. Copyright owners may use the notice & takedown procedure.

Nothing on ScamVault is financial, legal, tax or investment advice. Use ScamVault as one signal among many. You are solely responsible for your own decisions and any losses arising from them.

The Service contains links to third-party sites and references to third-party services. We do not endorse and are not responsible for any third-party content.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY OF DATA. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE CONTENT IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SCAMVAULT, ITS OPERATORS, CONTRIBUTORS, MODERATORS, OFFICERS, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR INVESTMENT, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS SHALL NOT EXCEED EUR 100.

You agree to indemnify and hold ScamVault and its operators harmless from any claim, liability, loss, damage, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from content you submit, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any third party right.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for any reason, including suspected breach of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer law in your country provides otherwise.

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced on the Service and continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
