Community Guidelines

ScamVault works when submissions are honest, evidenced, and respectful of human safety. Please read before submitting.

Do submit

  • First-hand experiences with the alleged scam or fraud.
  • Screenshots, transaction hashes, contract addresses, domains, emails and other verifiable identifiers.
  • Public statements made by the alleged scammer or their representatives.
  • Links to news reports, official warnings or regulatory actions.
  • Updates and corrections — accuracy matters more than being first.

Do not submit

  • Private personal data of non-public individuals (home address, government ID numbers, medical records, family members of accused parties).
  • Threats, calls to violence, or organisation of harassment campaigns ("brigading").
  • Sexual content, content involving minors, or other illegal material.
  • Content you know or reasonably suspect to be false.
  • Copyrighted material you do not have rights to share (see DMCA).
  • Spam, advertising, or repeated submissions about competitors with no evidence.

Write as allegations, not verdicts

Use language like "alleged", "reported", "claimed", or "appears to" when describing the actions of the subject of an investigation. ScamVault is a record of allegations and evidence — not a court of law.

Privacy and doxxing

Public-facing business information (company name, registered office, public officers, public social handles, public wallet addresses) is acceptable. Personal information that is not already public is not, even if you believe the subject is a scammer. Two wrongs do not make a right and it puts the platform — and you — at legal risk.

Conflicts of interest

Disclose if you have a personal, financial or competitive relationship with the subject of the report.

Moderation

Moderators may edit, label, delay, or remove content; merge duplicate reports; and update risk scores and statuses based on the evidence. Repeated violations may result in account suspension.

Appeals and corrections

Subjects of an investigation can ask us to re-examine their case via the revalidation form. Users can report factual errors via the contact form.
