Copyright & DMCA Policy
ScamVault respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users to do the same. We respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA") and equivalent provisions of local law (including the EU Copyright Directive).
Submitting a takedown notice
To request removal of content you believe infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent (use the contact form with subject "DMCA Takedown") including:
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
- The exact URL(s) on ScamVault where the allegedly infringing material is located.
- Your full name, address, telephone number and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Counter-notice
If your content has been removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice including the same elements above, plus a statement under penalty of perjury that the content was removed by mistake or misidentification, and consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court.
Repeat infringers
We will, in appropriate circumstances, suspend or terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers.
Fair use and quotation
Quotation of small excerpts for the purposes of news reporting, criticism, comment, or research is generally permitted under fair use / fair dealing. Submitting a false takedown notice may expose you to liability.
